The State of The Blog Address – 2010

by RJ

in Random

It’s been fun to join the blog sphere over the past six months. There was a steep learning curve at first but well worth the blood, sweat, and tears.

I didn’t reach my short term goals for Gen Y Wealth I set in June, but it’s not a total loss. The amount I learned about blogging has me ready to succeed in 2010. With this experience, I’m more clear on the direction I need to take than I was six months ago.

As a reader, I think it’s important you know the direction I’m headed. While these are not my exact goals, here a little of what you can expect.

More Personal

If someone was telling me what to do with my money, I would want to know as much as I can about them. When I started doing this blog, I had monthly updates. These updates let readers know more about me personally.

I plan on getting back to those monthly updates with a new addition. Each month, I will be performing a new 30 day-challenge. In January, I’m going to list 30 things on eBay. I will devote a few posts and newsletters on how my challenge is going. Eventually, I want readers of the blog to partake in the challenges with me.

More Video

I have only made one video so far for. My content plan for 2010 incorporates a lot more. Each week I want to provide:

  1. 3 Original written posts. In addition a Weekly Roundup of other quality financial posts each Saturday
  2. 1 Video
  3. 1 Newsletter

Premium Content

I’m working on a membership site for anyone who wants to really turn their finances around. Something a long the lines of a personal finance workshop, where you can follow steps 1-? to get your finances in order.

After a lot of research, I’m currently outlining the exact steps and will start creating the content soon.

This is one of the biggest projects I have ever decided to take on. Unfortunately, with my current schedule, it will equal a lot of late nights and early mornings. However, once it’s completed it will be well worth the effort.

Expect to hear more about this around April or May.

Do you have any suggestions for where you want Gen Y Wealth to go?

  • Is there anything I should do more of?
  • Do less of?
  • Anything you want me to write about?
  • Any personal situations where you need help?

Just let me know.

Thank you.

I am a Gen Yer and only just found your website now through ProBlogger. I love what you are doing here, and looking forward to the 3o day challenge.
