Weekend Reading – How do You like the New Look Edition?

by RJ

in Random

In case you haven’t noticed, Gen Y Wealth went through a little face lift. Nothing major, just a couple nips and tucks.

In your opinion was it a bad face lift, a la lion lady, or a good face lift, a la Ashley Simpson? Let me know your thoughts on the redesign in the comments.

Have a great weekend.

Definitely more professional and I like templates that do not bombard the reader with a lot of information, adverts and links coming from everywhere- face lift a la Cameron Diaz ;)

Thanks Ben. I’ll take that as a compliment. (:

Agreed. I noticed right away, and dig the new look. Having just started a blog of my own a few months back, I’m starting to learn the pains that come with design considerations, and the amount of time it can detract from the business at hand (the writing). Maybe that’s just me, since I’m new at all of this! Either way, it looks great.

It’s not just you. There’s always tweaking to do. For example, I just installed threaded comments after about 18 months. It’s about time.

I like the new look R.J. I use Thesis on my blog too and there are so many things to add & adjust it is quite daunting.

I would add more teasers to the front page though so more of your articles are active for readers.

Way better than lion lady…

Haha. Thanks for the suggestion. I’ll try it out for a month and see if it increases page views.

I think the front page looks better after the change to show more articles.

I like the new look just one thing – on your comments there seems to be 2 gravatars?

Thanks Evan…Interesting I have never even thought twice about it. I’ll look in it.

Fixed it. I had both Thesis and Wordpress showing gravatars. Thanks for pointing this out. Makes it look a lot cleaner and should help pages load faster.
