Weekend Reading & February 2011 Stats

by RJ

in Random

It’s been a while since I put together some good reading material, and according to my calculations, it’s been about a month since I did a monthly review of Gen Y Wealth.

So here it goes…

Active Subscribers

One of the most important statistics I track is newsletter subscribers. As of February 1st, I had 567 subscribers.

Each month, my goal is to grow the number of subscribers by 10%. As of March 1st, I had 617.  A growth rate of 9%. Just under. ):

If you’re not signed up, I would love for you to join. Subscribers get a 10-Day course on personal finance called The Financial Freedom Blueprint and access to unique newsletter only content.

Website Traffic

To get an idea of the site’s traffic, here’s a month by month comparison of some of the statistics I track:

January

  • Alexa Rankings: 307,209
  • Absolute Visitors: 9,896
  • Page Views: 36,931
  • Average Time: 2:42

February

  • Alexa Rankings: 300,060
  • Absolute Visitors: 9,136
  • Page Views: 31,668
  • Average Time: 2:34

All in all, a pretty flat month considering it was a short one.

Being an optimist, I can’t be to disappointed in the Gen Y Wealth’s performance for February. I worked only one to two hours a day for two weeks while in The Netherlands and Belgium.

Thanks goes out to the blogs who sent the most traffic to Gen Y Wealth. The top 5 for February were:

  1. Get Rich Slowly
  2. Free Money Finance
  3. The Simple Dollar
  4. The Really Good Life
  5. Oblivious Investor

Weekend Reading

Two links and a book I’ve really enjoyed reading for your enjoyment.

That’s really outstanding growth. When did things start to pick up for you? I started my site several months ago and am having a really good time with it, but some days are discouraged when traffic suffers for whatever reason.

Pat…It takes a while. It wasn’t until I blogged consistently for one year until things started to pick up. Due to some links from Get Rich Slowly, Simple Dollar, and MSN. A

And even though I have traffic, I’m not a profitable business yet.
